The Hatton Ranch whitetail deer breeding
program is focused on producing big framed wide typical
bucks. This provides superior animals for stocking our ranch
and supplying other breeders and ranchers looking to improve
their hunting and breeding programs.
We purchased a breeding herd in 2006 with
good foundation stock from
South Texas
, LSU and the Refuge. Since then, we have added animals with
big typical genetics purchased from some of the top Texas
breeders including Robert Williams / RW Trophy Ranch (Bambi
727, Bambi Daggertine, Little Buckie), Rick Jones / R&M Rocky
Creek Ranch (Impact and Brutus), Brad Sullivan / Sullivan
Whitetails (Sack Crete, Bambi Sawblade), James Butler / High
Roller Whitetails (Bambi Longhorn and BB Peanut), Robert
Gegenheimer / Cotton Mesa Whitetails (Woody and Texas
Twister), Dick Cain / Trophy Ridge Ranch (G.B. Wall Street),
Ron Boren / Windy B Ranch (Revelation), 3 Amigos (Texas
Samson, Bambi Sawblade), Art Browning / Upper Oxbow (Flap)
and James Veitenheimer / V-Tex Whitetails (V-Tex Pablo).
In addition, we have added to our
breeding program through artificial insemination with semen
from some of the industrys biggest typical bucks
including G.B. Magic (307@4), Bambi Longhorn (30 wide
sire to Monarch 1 & 2), Patriot (220@3), Full House
(270@5), Navigator (235 3/8@3), Broken House (240@5
24 wide), Famous Amos (241@4), General Grant (220@3),
KG GoMax (190@2), G.B. Ultra Max (251 3/8@3) and MN
Geronimo (220@2 26 wide).
Our working facility allows us to
artificially inseminate our does, administer
regularly-scheduled vaccinations, and to live load deer
being moved to other breeders or ranches. We feel that live
loading bred does is the safest way to avoid problems for
the doe or the unborn fawns. Tranquilizing them only adds
risks. We maintain detailed records and most of our animals
are DNA certified and registered with the North American
Deer Registry. We are CWD monitored by the Texas Animal
Health Commission and movement qualified by
Texas
Parks
and Wildlife.
We have bred does and open does that can
be AI bred using your choice of semen or naturally bred to
one of our bucks or to your own buck. We also have a limited
number of breed bucks and fawns for sale each year.
Semen from our top breed bucks is also available.
